CrossFit Miramont has a ~4,000 square feet facility with 3 dedicated lifting platforms each with men’s and women’s Olympic bars, squat stand and their own weight set. We also have jerk blocks; pull boxes, squat racks, and a huge 576 square foot impact floor.
We pack a lot into an hour during CrossFit classes. CrossFit Miramont coaches focus on Olympic Weightlifting technique more than most, but still we did not feel there was enough dedicated time to really work on such technical movements. So we designed programs which allow our members to practice technique as beginners, or excel as athletes who compete in CrossFit or Olympic Weightlifting. CrossFit Miramont’s Olympic Weightlifting classes are available to all our members at no extra charge.
This class is taught by USAW Coach Justin Thompson on Monday & Wednesday nights from 7:00pm-8:30pm, Thursday morning 10:30-12:00pm, and Saturday morning 7:00-8:30am. Beginner and Intermediate lifters learn the skills necessary to transition into our competitive Olympic Weightlifting Program. Lifting technique is the focus along with use of equipment, programming structure, etiquette, and mental focus concepts.
Are you a National-level athlete? Do you aspire to qualify for a National-level event? This is the heart of our Weightlifting program. We believe that competing in a local weightlifting meet or National meet is a great way to get outside of your comfort zone and grow as an individual. The program cycles 4 times a year with a meet culminating each cycle. It is a USA Weightlifting 12-week cycle designed and revised each cycle by Coach Justin.
The CrossFit Miramont Weightlifting Team trains together to develop teamwork and camaraderie. Training sessions are held at CrossFit Miramont, they last about 1.5 hours per session, and you are coached the entire time. The program is personalized for advanced National-level lifters as necessary. Classes are held Monday & Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30pm; Thursday night from 7:00-8:00pm (Strength Class); and Saturday morning from 7:00-8:30am.
This is how you get stronger and faster at CrossFit timed workouts. It incorporates deadlifts, presses, and squats into a systematic strength program. Strength Workouts are posted on Beyond the Whiteboard under Olympic Weightlifting on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
The Olympic Lifts and Strength programming makes our competitive CrossFit athletes stronger and able to endure the weight demands of local and CrossFit Games Competitions. The Skills cover the highest end of technique-based movements.
